Studio Information

Allegro Music Classes, located in central Indiana, is home to a string program combining Suzuki and traditional techniques. It is directed by Raye Pankratz, a first violinist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for over 29 years. Allegro Music Classes was selected by the International Violin Competition to be featured with them in joint exhibits at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, because of its solid teaching/performing reputation. From our classes, performing groups are regularly featured in recitals throughout the year in several locations across Indiana.

Raye Pankratz received his Bachelor and Master degrees in music from the Juilliard School of Music where he studied with the legendary violin teachers Dorothy Delay and Ivan Galamian. Shortly after graduating, he became a teaching associate of Miss DeLay at the Aspen Music Festival. An active member of Suzuki Association of the Americas, Raye received training in Suzuki-based pedagogy from three of the founders of American Suzuki movement: Ronda Cole, John Kendall, and Kay Slone.
