Hailed for her \"gorgeous sound\", \"highest level of technique and musicality\" and \"tremendous potential\", Anastasia Sukhopara is a young classical concert violinist born in St-Petersburg, Russia. She has begun her studies under the direction of virtuosos Mikhail Gantvarg and Pavel Popov at St-Petersburg Conservatory\'s School for the Musically Gifted before she was awarded a World Scholarship to come to Berklee College of Music in Boston for a Degree in Performance. While at Berklee Anastasia received numerous awards and honors including the D’Addario Strings Award and the Berklee Achievement Scholarship. Anastasia has participated in masterclasses given by Frank Huang, Joan Kwuon, Sergiu Schwartz and Leslie Parnas. She has also studied with Sergiu Schwartz at the Bowdoin International Music Festival in the Summer 2009. As an active chamber musician and a former member of the Boston String Quartet, Anastasia recorded “Xibus” and “Contrasts” albums (released in 2008) and collaborated with John Mayer, Giorgia Fumanti, Tim Janis and Fionnuala Gill. The outstanding instrument being used by Anastasia is the violin by Bernadel, Paris, 1844, – on generous loan from a patron. In September 2009 Anastasia will continue her undergraduate education with Lynn Chang as a full scholarship student at the Boston Conservatory.
