Lessons are geared toward the individual student, and students are encouraged to talk about their individual musical goals and what they would like to learn, whether they are beginners, intermediate or advanced level. Every students receives a free consultation/trial lesson.
Melanie has taught violin and piano lessons for 10+ years in California and Massachusetts, at music and community schools, workshops, music stores, music academies, and her home studio. Her students have been of all ages (from 4 to 60+ yrs old) and levels, including child and adult beginners, adult amateurs, serious students preparing for careers in music, and students just looking to play for their own enjoyment. Although classically trained herself, Melanie has taught students all styles of written music. She currently teaches private lessons in her studio and at the Haggery Community School in Cambridge. She also teaches group piano lessons at the Boston Collegiate Charter School in Dorchester.
